Uncover the secrets of life in our oceans.On your three-year multidisciplinary Marine Biology with Oceanography degree, accredited by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), you will gain a detailed knowledge of marine biota and the physics, chemistry, and sedimentology that influence them. You will explore a broad variety of topics and take part in a full fieldwork programme that includes residential trips in the first two years.You will study at the National Oceanography Centre Southampton (NOCS), one of the world’s largest centres devoted to research, teaching, and technology development in ocean and Earth science, where you will make use of the excellent teaching and cutting-edge research labs as well as our fleet of research vessels. As part of your course you will spend a significant amount of time on our research vessels carrying out boat-based field work and getting hands on experience.
