Film and history are intrinsically connected, tracing back to the origins of cinema. This dynamic degree caters to students passionate about film and historical studies, featuring a year abroad to deepen understanding of visual arts and immerse in a new culture.The programme explores film history through diverse lenses, including its roles as popular art, industry, and cultural archive, encompassing classics and modern genres such as film noir, horror, science fiction, documentaries, and animation. Students spend their third year at a partner university, studying in English while enhancing language skills, and utilise advanced digital facilities like virtual reality and 3D technology for research.Modules cover core aspects of film and history, allowing customisation with options like Introduction to Film: Style and Analysis, European Cinema, and Global Cinemas.
