Students engage in work placements, study abroad opportunities, and visits to schools and training environments. Supported by world-leading research from the Institute for Equity and Effectiveness in Education (IE3), participants develop skills to critique policy and explore complex issues, fostering a supportive environment for positive change. Specialist modules and employability workshops prepare graduates for careers in teaching, educational welfare, local government, community development, and further study.Modules may include Digital Society: Education and Learning, Curriculum Design, and Cognitive Psychology in Education. Assessment methods encompass lectures, classes, tutorials, coursework, individual and group projects, and independent learning, with annual breakdowns such as: Year 1 (6% practical exam, 94% coursework), Year 2 (19% practical exam, 81% coursework), and Year 3 (6% written exam, 6% practical exam, 88% coursework).
