About the course

This course integrates civil engineering and architecture to address sustainable urban development, ideal for aspiring structural engineers. Students specialize in architectural and urban design while studying structural and geomechanical engineering, and developing essential design and manufacturing skills. The program begins with foundational engineering science and civil engineering principles in the first two years, including design skills via workshops and projects. In years three and four, focus shifts to urban design, structures, geotechnics, and practical application through projects, economics, and management. An optional industrial placement extends the degree to five years, offering real-world engineering experience.Modules span topics like engineering design, structural analysis, soil mechanics, and urban design across four years, with options for advanced studies. Assessment includes written exams, coursework, lab reports, essays, and projects, while the placement year is evaluated via a reflective report. The course is accredited by professional bodies such as the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers, ensuring industry recognition.
