About the course

The BA Archaeology programme examines the evolution of human societies, from ancient civilisations like the Aztecs, Mayans, Egyptians, and Romans to the medieval era, exploring how these cultures emerged, transformed, and contributed to modern diversity. Led by field experts, the course covers topics such as bioarchaeology, classical antiquity, maritime archaeology, and human origins, allowing students to tailor their studies to personal interests. Opportunities include study abroad, work placements, and interdisciplinary modules, complemented by at least three weeks of fieldwork involving excavations and artefact collection.
