About the course

Develop your creative confidence and unique voice through hands-on experimentation in the state-of-the-art Minghella Studios, a collaborative space where film, theatre, and television professionals work together. Students gain access to three adaptable theatre spaces, a multi-camera film and TV studio equipped with Arri Alexa cameras, a digital cinema, and advanced recording and mixing facilities.Located in the UK's rapidly growing film hub, the Reading area benefits from a new major studio nearby on the University’s Thames Valley Science Park. Our department partners with Shinfield Studios and Resource Productions, which received significant British Film Institute funding in 2023 to establish a key screen-skills training centre. Sample core modules include Introduction to Filmmaking, Scriptwriting, TV Studio Production, Creative Screen Practice, and Advanced Film/TV Projects, subject to final approval for 2025/26. For more details, visit the programme page.
