About the course

Our BSc Economics with Placement Year degree explores the application of economic theory to contemporary domestic and global challenges, equipping students with essential workplace skills. This four-year programme emphasises the use of economic tools in various markets and scenarios, fostering the knowledge and abilities needed to address issues faced by policymakers and businesses worldwide. An integrated placement year allows students to apply their learning in real-world settings.Key core modules include Applied Economics and Policy, Core Competencies in Economics, Mathematical Methods for Economists, Introductory Economic Theory, and Intermediate Microeconomics. These have been provisionally approved for 2025/26, subject to final university confirmation, with potential changes.
