Our BSc in Biomedical Science provides a practical, research-focused exploration of the human body's mechanisms, developed in partnership with NHS laboratory scientists. Taught by research-active experts, the course earned high marks in the 2023 National Student Survey, with 98% of students rating teaching staff as good or very good at explaining concepts. You will study biological systems from cellular to whole-body levels, including diseases and the body's responses, while selecting specialised modules to suit your interests. Opportunities include year-long industrial placements or paid studentships for hands-on experience.Sample modules, subject to final approval for 2025/26, may include Cellular and Molecular Principles of Life, Anatomy and Physiology, Haematology and Immunology, Medical Genetics, Venoms and Poisons: From Pharmacology to Therapeutics, and Evolution in Health and Disease.
