About the course

The BEng Robotics programme encourages exploration in mechatronics, artificial intelligence, and biosensors, with a focus on advanced robotics including mobile and humanoid automation, supported by electronics and hardware for industrial and service applications. Hands-on learning is central, featuring extensive laboratory sessions in high-specification electronics, communications, and robotics facilities, enabling students to apply lecture theory through practical tasks across analogue/digital electronics, programming, AI, microprocessors, embedded systems, control theory, sensors, and motors.Students access innovative laboratories in our new engineering and design facility, collaborate with world-renowned staff in cutting-edge service and cognitive robotics research, and undertake individual/group projects building wheeled, industrial, and humanoid robots. Opportunities include third-year placements, world-class research engagement, free IET membership, and Peer-Assisted Learning Scheme (PALS) sessions. Accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology for Incorporated Engineer registration (full) and Chartered Engineer (partial).
