Midwifery (Pre-Registration), MSc (Hons)

This MSc Midwifery (Pre-Registration) (Blended Learning) programme enables graduates with a relevant degree to study midwifery at Masters level. It equips students with the knowledge, skills, interpersonal, and cultural competence to deliver individualised care, promoting continuity, personalisation, and choice for childbearing women and families.Over three years, with 45 weeks of learning annually (50% clinical placement), self-motivated students access online materials from University of Plymouth experts, supported by local tutors. Weekly placements in South West England maternity units ensure NMC proficiency. Year 1 covers professional practice, clinical skills, health factors, medications, and research; Year 2 advances theory and skills; Year 3 includes a project and complex care, including NIPE. Graduates register with the NMC, practise autonomously UK-wide or globally, and pursue PhD studies.
