Students gain hands-on experience surveying diverse marine habitats via boat and shore in the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park, while exploring human impacts on ecosystems and strategies to foster positive human-nature relationships. The program emphasizes practical deployment of conservation tools, contemporary marine issues, and strong partnerships with local organizations, government bodies, and consultancies. Opportunities include UK and overseas field courses, research expeditions, an HSE professional diving course with an optional scientific diving module, and a facilitated placement year in the sector.
