About the course

This course builds expertise in the physical care, repair, conservation, restoration, and refurbishment of buildings through lectures, site visits, tutorials, and an optional year-long paid industry placement. It prepares students for careers in building surveying, property management, project management, or building regulation, with a flexible first year shared with BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying and BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management, allowing transfers after Year 1. Students gain hands-on experience through real-world design and build projects guided by industry advisers, using state-of-the-art facilities like design studios, specialist laboratories, and software such as Revit, AutoCAD, MS Project, and BCIS databases. The program is professionally accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), and Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), offering a direct route to chartered membership.
