Our four-year MEng in Product Design and Manufacture develops engineering, technical, creative, and professional skills to create future industry leaders. Unique for its engineering, analytical, and manufacturing focus, it provides a technical, real-world perspective on product design, enhanced by a study-abroad year broadening cultural insights into industrial design.Utilising modern technologies like digital sketching, high-end 3D printing, rapid prototyping, and VR, the course features modules in manufacturing, materials, ergonomics, and marketing. Project-based learning addresses challenges in medical, automotive, packaging, and electronics sectors, emphasising mass manufacture and commercial viability. Delivered by industry-experienced staff and practising designers, it is accredited by the Institution of Engineering Designers and IET; ranked 1st in the Russell Group (NSS 2024) and top 10 UK for Manufacturing (CUG 2025).
