Our four-year BEng Product Design and Manufacture course integrates creativity with engineering principles, featuring unique engineering, analytical, and manufacturing content for a technical, real-world perspective on product design. Students undertake an industrial year between years two and three, gaining practical experience in design or related fields with support from a dedicated placement team, including application guidance, employer events, and academic visits. The curriculum employs cutting-edge technologies such as digital sketching, high-end 3D printing, rapid prototyping, and virtual reality, preparing graduates for industry—many join leading firms like Dyson, Jaguar Land Rover, Unilever, Caterpillar, and L'Oréal.Modules cover manufacturing, materials, ergonomics, and marketing, with project-based learning addressing challenges in sectors like medical, automotive, and electronics, emphasizing mass manufacture and commercial viability.
