Electronic engineers design, develop, test, and manage the production of technologies ranging from drones and electric vehicles to components in smartphones, navigation systems, and hospital equipment. This course provides diverse opportunities to build expertise in electronics through hands-on lab projects, individual and team-based work, and problem-solving skills. In the second year, students can study at our campuses in China or Malaysia, immersing in new cultures while following the same curriculum as in the UK, taught entirely in English. Core modules are complemented by optional subjects based on interests, preparing graduates to innovate in evolving electrical control systems. All electrical and electronic programs share content in the first two years, allowing specialization in year three. As BEng graduates, options include registering as an Incorporated Engineer or pursuing Chartered Engineer status, equipping you for careers in industry or beyond. In year one, all students pursue a common program, including modules in engineering mathematics, power and energy, and information systems. Year two, studied at our China or Malaysia campuses, enhances electronic engineering knowledge and design skills through laboratory-based subjects. In year three, students undertake an individual project alongside optional modules such as power electronic applications, digital communications, robotics, and dynamics and control.
