Electrical Engineering, BEng (Hons)

Electrical engineers design and develop innovative technologies for power generation, processing, and distribution, including Smart Grid systems for renewable energy sources, while supporting various manufacturing sectors. These advancements enable hybrid and electric vehicles, trains, ships, and aircraft, contributing to a sustainable future.This course equips students with specialised electrical knowledge and skills through lab-based projects, individual and team-based problem-solving, and design training. Years one and two share core content across electrical and electronic programs, allowing specialisation in year three. Students enhance their understanding and design abilities in year two via laboratory subjects, then select from diverse topics in year three. Graduates can register as Incorporated Engineers with the Engineering Council or pursue Chartered Engineer status, with studies involving lectures, group work, and up to 40 hours weekly.
