About the course

The Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.) degree program delivers the essential education and practical experience needed for a career in social work. It equips graduates for entry-level generalist practice, addressing the needs of individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. The program requires 120 credit hours of coursework, including 12 hours of field practicum. Its curriculum builds skills and readiness for social work responsibilities, with an elective study abroad option exploring international social welfare in countries such as Costa Rica, South Korea, India, Ireland, and Italy. Students complete one practicum placement in their senior year, attending classes two days a week and practicum two days a week during fall and spring semesters, for a minimum of 480 hours. By fostering students' capacity for empathy, the program prepares social workers to enhance human potential, promote well-being, and advance a more just society.
