About the course

The East Asian Studies program with a Korean Language Concentration requires 32 junior or senior-level credit hours, including at least 9 hours completed at KU. These requirements were last updated in September 2013, so students should consult their EALC advisor for the most current details.Key components include KOR504-508 (8 credits), either ECIV304 or ECIV305 (3 credits), a Premodern Korea course (3 credits), a Modern Korea course (3 credits), a Humanities course on East Asia (3 credits), a Social Science course on East Asia (3 credits), and three additional East Asia-related courses totaling 9 credits, where one may be KOR562. Honors 499 can fulfill either the Humanities or Social Science requirement.
