The four-year MPharm Pharmacy degree programme is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of pharmacy theory and practice, integrating science and healthcare. It equips students with essential scientific knowledge and skills to become pharmacists, including insights into normal and abnormal bodily functions for patient treatment. Students will explore the pharmacist's role in healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry, while developing key interpersonal skills such as communication, information technology application, and teamwork.Pharmacists serve as experts in medicines, offering accessible health advice and evolving roles in medicine management, non-medical prescribing, and drug design. The programme involves on-campus studies in modern facilities and clinical placements, using diverse teaching methods like lectures, seminars, and practical classes, supported by computer-assisted learning. You will undertake your studies both on campus within lecture theatres and new modern laboratories, as well as on clinical placements. A variety of teaching methods including lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical classes and problem based learning will be used in components of the course, supported by computer-assisted learning and self-directed study. You will be regularly assessed throughout the four years by examinations, coursework and project work. Within your final year you will undertake a Research Project in an area which interests you.
