The Theatre Studies program examines the nature and function of theatrical events and theatre culture through critical, historical, and practical perspectives. Situated in Glasgow's vibrant theatre and performance scene, it offers strong connections with the arts sector, providing opportunities to learn from and collaborate with nationally and internationally acclaimed practitioners. In English Literature, students explore all aspects of literature in English, benefiting from expertise in areas such as American, Irish, and postcolonial literatures, critical theory, creative writing, and the interplay between literature and other arts, media, and sciences. Additionally, access to the world-class Hunterian and Library collections—strengthened by holdings in 18th- and 19th-century works, travel literature, illuminated manuscripts, and significant single-author collections—enhances the study.
