About the course

Social and Public Policy addresses global and societal challenges, including poverty, inequality, housing, health, technology, and sustainability. This programme draws on concepts from political science, sociology, and economics to explore how governments develop responses that meet people's needs, welfare, and wellbeing. The teaching team received the prestigious Social Policy Association/Policy Press Outstanding Teaching Award in 2020, recognising the University of Glasgow's excellence and innovation in UK social policy education. Additionally, Social Policy at Glasgow ranked joint first in the UK for student satisfaction in the 2019 National Student Survey, and students can undertake a work placement with a voluntary or public sector organisation.Theatre Studies examines theatrical events and culture through critical, historical, and practical lenses.
