About the course

Scottish Literature encompasses the study of Scotland's poetry, drama, fiction, and prose from the 14th century to contemporary works. The University houses the UK's only academic unit dedicated exclusively to teaching and researching Scottish literature, including the Centre for Robert Burns Studies, which is producing a new multi-volume scholarly edition of Scotland’s national poet. The Theatre Studies degree examines theatrical events and culture through critical, historical, and practical lenses. We maintain strong ties with the theatre industry, offering opportunities to collaborate with practitioners of national and international renown.
