The Portuguese program encompasses the languages, literatures, and cultures of Brazil, Portugal, and the wider Portuguese-speaking world. At Glasgow, it provides a varied curriculum featuring small-group work with native speakers from Portugal and Brazil, longstanding links with the Instituto Camões, and full access to the Language Resources Centre's excellent audiovisual, digital, and print materials.English Literature explores all aspects of literature in English, leveraging expertise in American, Irish, and postcolonial works, critical theory, creative writing, and links to other arts, media, and science. Students benefit from the world-class Hunterian and Library collections, with strengths in 18th- and 19th-century materials, travel, illuminated manuscripts, and significant single-author holdings.
