The Portuguese programme at Glasgow encompasses the languages, literatures, and cultures of Brazil, Portugal, and the wider Portuguese-speaking world. It offers a varied curriculum with small-group work alongside native speakers from Portugal and Brazil, bolstered by long-established links to the Instituto Camões. Students enjoy full access to the Language Resources Centre, providing excellent audiovisual, digital, and printed materials.English Language and Linguistics explores the structure and meaning of English, past and present, to illuminate our culture, society, and identity. Over 50 years, we developed the world-leading Historical Thesaurus of English—a unique resource charting the semantic evolution of its vast vocabulary. Dedicated laboratories enable analysis of spoken and written language.
