Geography examines Earth's surface as the habitat for human life and activity, analyzing variations in physical and human landscapes and their interconnections. This degree program is accredited by the Institute of Environmental Sciences and the Royal Geographical Society.Scottish Literature explores Scotland's poetry, drama, fiction, and prose in English and Scots, from the 14th century to contemporary works. The University hosts the UK's sole academic unit dedicated exclusively to teaching and research in Scottish literature. It is also home to the Centre for Robert Burns Studies, which has secured over £2 million from the Arts and Humanities Research Council for a new multi-volume scholarly edition of Scotland's national poet.
