**Gaelic:** Explore Scottish Gaelic language and culture through the centuries to the present day, developing your Gaelic skills for the contemporary job market. *Ionnsaich mu chultar na Gàidhlig tro na linntean, agus leasaich do sgilean cànain airson chothroman cosnaidh nas fheàrr.* Study Gaelic folklore, song, modern poetry, autobiography, contemporary fiction, and drama—all through the medium of Gaelic. The University’s Gaelic initiative and the city’s vibrant Gaelic community offer opportunities to use Gaelic beyond the classroom.**Philosophy:** Philosophy systematically pursues clear answers to profound questions about knowledge, life, morality, science, and human nature using reason and argument. We host reading parties for students in the Highlands, maintain a flourishing undergraduate Philosophy Society, and are home to the Centre for the Study of Perceptual Experience.
