**GAELIC:** Explore Scottish Gaelic language and culture from centuries past to the present day, developing your Gaelic skills for the contemporary job market. *Ionnsaich mu chultar na Gàidhlig tro na linntean, agus leasaich do sgilean cànain airson chothroman cosnaidh nas fheàrr.* Study Gaelic folklore, song, modern poetry, autobiography, contemporary fiction, and drama—all in Gaelic—while the University’s Gaelic initiative and the city’s vibrant Gaelic community offer opportunities to use the language beyond the classroom.**CENTRAL & EAST EUROPEAN STUDIES:** The twentieth century brought dramatic changes to Central and Eastern Europe through war, revolution, and profound social and economic shifts, creating a tumultuous era whose legacies, including post-communist challenges, persist today. From the Baltic to the Balkans and Berlin to Vladivostok, we examine key issues in this vital region. The University hosts a government-funded Centre of Excellence for Russian, Central & East European Studies, featuring year-round cultural, social, and academic events. Optionally, study Hungarian, Czech, Polish, or Russian.
