This course summary highlights two subjects. In English Literature, students will examine the full spectrum of literature in English, drawing on expertise in areas such as American, Irish, and postcolonial studies, critical theory, creative writing, and interdisciplinary connections with arts, media, and science. Access to the University’s renowned Hunterian collection and Library Special Collections—strengthened by holdings in the 18th and 19th centuries, travel, illuminated manuscripts, and key single-author works—enhances the experience.For Latin, the program focuses on the study of the Latin language, literature, and Roman civilization, with opportunities to visit archaeological sites and museums in Italy as part of the curriculum.
