The study of English Language and Linguistics examines the structure, meaning, and historical evolution of the English language to illuminate aspects of culture, society, and human identity. Over the past 50 years, we have developed the world-renowned Historical Thesaurus of English, a distinctive resource for tracing the semantic growth of its vast vocabulary. Students also gain access to specialized laboratories for analyzing spoken and written language.A degree in Russian offers the opportunity to engage with a language of strategic global importance, while exploring the depth of its cultural traditions.
