English Language and Linguistics examines the structure and meaning of the English language, past and present, revealing insights into our culture, society, and identity. Psychology scientifically studies the mind and behaviour, exploring how people think, act, react, and interact to support individuals and address broader societal issues through research and practice.At the University of Glasgow, we have taught English Language and Linguistics for over 75 years, with field-leading staff who developed the world-leading Historical Thesaurus of English and maintain dedicated labs for spoken and written language analysis. Our psychology programme integrates experimental psychology, cognitive science, and neuroscience to advance understanding of human and animal behaviour, complemented by a vibrant student life via the Psychology Society.
