The course provides an in-depth exploration of English Language and Linguistics, examining the structure, meaning, and evolution of the English language from historical to contemporary contexts. This study reveals insights into culture, society, and human identity. Over the past five decades, the program has developed the renowned Historical Thesaurus of English, a distinctive tool for tracking the semantic evolution of its extensive vocabulary. Students also gain access to specialized facilities for analyzing spoken and written language.In French studies, students engage with a major European and global language, alongside the diverse cultures it has shaped worldwide. The program offers flexibility to explore various topics, such as French comics, music, travel literature, medieval history, and modern French developments.
