Electronic and Software Engineering, BEng (Hons)

Electronic and software engineering integrates the study of hardware and software in contemporary computing and engineering. This program equips students with the expertise needed to lead teams in designing and developing future computerized and embedded systems.At the University of Glasgow, students between years 3 and 4 undertake an industry work placement in the UK or overseas. Undergraduate taught programs on our UK campus are accredited by the British Computer Society. Honours graduates qualify for full Chartered IT Professional (CITP) status and partial Chartered Engineer (CEng) accreditation. MSci graduates are eligible for full CITP and CEng via BCS. Honours degrees carry the Euro-Inf Bachelor Quality label, while MSci degrees hold the Euro-Inf Master Quality label. Graduates have secured roles across diverse sectors, including software houses, electronics firms, and commercial organizations such as Agilent, ARM, BMW, Ion Torrent, Thales, and Wolfson Microelectronics.
