Astronomy and Mathematics, BSc (Hons)

Astronomy is the scientific study of the physical universe, encompassing Earth, the solar system, and distant galaxies.At the University of Glasgow, astronomy lectures are enhanced by our observatory, planetarium, and telescope facilities, with insights into cutting-edge astrophysics from leading researchers. The Astronomy/Mathematics joint degree is recognised by the Institute of Physics. Graduates gain scientific knowledge, mathematical, and analytical skills for diverse industries. Many pursue MSc or PhD degrees in astronomy or related fields before entering employment as IT business analysts, architects and systems designers, or programmers and software development professionals.
