This comprehensive programme introduces various methodologies for interpreting the past to inform contemporary understanding in political, economic, ideological, social, and cultural contexts. It includes the Centre for Gender History, which collaborates with external organisations on women's and gender issues, and offers courses through the Scottish Centre for War Studies, providing expertise on warfare and conflict from the medieval era to today.
