About the course

The Aerospace Systems MEng programme, a five-year course, focuses on the design and application of onboard systems for aircraft and spacecraft to enhance their operational efficiency and performance. Students participate in practical laboratories, including jet engine testing and a flight-testing course in a Jetstream aircraft during the final year. The growing complexity of aircraft systems and ongoing developments in aviation increase demand for engineers in software, hardware design, simulation, and expert systems. Graduates have secured roles with companies such as QinetiQ, Logica, BAE Systems, Thales, and Unisys. The programme is accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society and is currently seeking reaccreditation from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
