This course offers opportunities to engage in literary analysis while enhancing language proficiency within cultural contexts, and to examine literary innovations in their historical and national settings. Participants will acquire essential analytical methods applicable to various disciplines and research endeavors.Beyond the classroom, students can participate in extracurricular activities such as language societies, tandem partnerships, community liaison work, and events like the Translation! Festival—the UK's sole public festival dedicated to translation. The campus boasts outstanding resources, including Special Collections on renowned writers, the unique Bill Douglas Cinema Museum for film and popular culture, and the Digital Humanities Lab. Exeter has recently earned UNESCO City of Literature status.
