This course equips students to interpret visual imagery, such as photography and design, along with objects and practices, to gain insights into contemporary and past societies. It also involves exploring the media, techniques, and historical contexts of artistic works, including the terminology for their description and evaluation, as well as the institutions that present them publicly. Students will engage with modules that showcase the diversity of artistic and visual works, fostering critical analysis within their historical and theoretical frameworks.The campus integrates art, history, and culture through facilities like the Exeter Northcott Theatre, The Bill Douglas Cinema Museum, Lemon Grove, Great Hall, and Roborough Studios.
