Journalism and Criminology, BA (Hons), with study abroad

This BA in Journalism and Criminology explores contemporary issues like rising crime rates in the UK, media portrayals of gangs, and public access to trial information. It equips students to analyse society and crime while developing journalistic skills for sharing insights through a social lens. The curriculum covers diverse topics, from the influence of computer games on crime to terrorism, integrated with practical training in multimedia channels like radio, television, and online platforms, alongside international journalism perspectives.Students enjoy flexibility to select areas of interest, such as Law and Society, production skills, globalisation's impact on crime, and International Journalism. In the final year, participants culminate their studies with a multimedia project tied to criminology themes.
