Mechanical Engineering, MEng (Hons), with industry placement

Engineering focuses on innovative solutions, with mechanical engineers essential to designing and manufacturing items featuring moving parts, such as household appliances and renewable energy systems. This three-year course at UEA cultivates curiosity, enhances problem-solving abilities, and prepares students for diverse engineering careers. In the first year, an integrated program builds foundational knowledge, skills, and industry connections. From the second year, students specialise in mechanical engineering, covering solid and fluid mechanics, control systems, thermodynamics, design, and manufacturing, followed by a third-year industrial placement and final-year studies.In the final year, students tackle real-world industrial projects using an interdisciplinary approach, including site visits, workshop designs, and client proposals, which have led to job offers for past participants.
