About the course

Cognitive Psychology explores the mental processes underlying human behaviour, including attention, language, memory, and perception. This programme equips students with key theories and research methods through research-led teaching in varied group sizes. UEA's School of Psychology ranks 14th for research quality in Psychology, Psychiatry, and Neuroscience (Times Higher Education REF 2021). Students receive support from academic advisors and university wellbeing teams, studying topics like brain cognition, risk psychology, and clinical neuropsychology. Flexibility allows switching pathways in the first year. The third year involves studying abroad at partner universities in Asia, Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand, fostering skills valued by employers. In the final year, access state-of-the-art facilities, including virtual reality and eye-tracking equipment, for an individual research project on areas like autism or visual perception. Graduates develop expertise in human behaviour and data handling, with career support leading to opportunities in human resources, teaching, healthcare, and beyond.
