About the course

Cognitive Psychology explores mental processes like attention, language, memory, and perception that shape human behaviour. This course delivers research-led teaching in varied group sizes from UEA’s School of Psychology, ranked 14th for research quality in Psychology, Psychiatry, and Neuroscience (Times Higher Education REF 2021). Supported by academic advisors, Learning Enhancement, and Wellbeing Teams, students start with a four-week pre-arrival module. Core topics include brain and cognition, psychology of risk, visual world, language, and clinical neuropsychology, with flexible module choices and pathway switches. Third-year placements offer hands-on experience in NHS trusts, schools, charities, and police. Final-year facilities feature VR suites, eye-tracking, and motion-tracking for an individual cognitive research project on topics like autism or face perception.Graduates gain employer-valued skills in data handling, bolstered by career support, placements, and internships. Careers span HR, data management, teaching, media, research, marketing, healthcare, and justice, plus postgraduate study. Course details may change; confirm on the provider's website.
