Learn from leading research scientists who are experts in their fields through our BSc Biochemistry with a Year Abroad degree, jointly taught by the Schools of Biological Sciences and Chemistry, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, with contributions from nearby institutions in the Norwich Research Park. This integrated approach ensures expertise across all course elements.At UEA, you'll progress from foundational biochemistry to advanced topics like protein engineering and cancer biology, gaining skills in groundbreaking research, interpretation, and communication. In your third year, study abroad at a partner institution worldwide to enhance your studies and CV. As part of the Norwich Research Park—one of Europe's largest concentrations of food, genomics, and health scientists—you'll access facilities like the John Innes Centre, Sainsbury Laboratory, Earlham Institute, and Quadram Institute. This prepares you for industry roles, postgraduate research, or impactful careers in health, nutrition, clean energy, and pollution control.
