Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management, BSc (Hons)

This course prepares students for a career as a chartered quantity surveyor, providing a comprehensive understanding of scientific, technological, professional, legal, and management skills in key areas. Accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES), and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), it includes a year-long industrial placement between the second and final year, along with support for internships and employability. Developed in collaboration with industry partners, the program ensures relevant learning through lectures, seminars, group work, site visits, and expert teaching from knowledgeable staff.Students will cover modules such as Construction Materials Technology, Environmental Design, CAD, Law and Construction Contracts, Advanced Quantity Surveying, and Risk Management. Assessment involves computer workshops, fieldwork, assignments, examinations, and peer reviews. Graduates are well-positioned for senior roles in construction, civil engineering, and related sectors, with options for a Foundation Year or Industrial Placement Year.
