About the course

The University of Bristol's primary medical qualification, recognised by the General Medical Council, provides comprehensive training in the art, science, and practice of medicine. Students benefit from early clinical exposure in hospital, community, and primary care settings; a mix of lectures, case-based learning, and practical activities; advanced anatomy facilities; integration of basic sciences with clinical education; inter-professional placements; diverse clinical experiences; a student choice programme for personal interests and research; flexible final-year electives; and targeted preparation for foundation doctor roles.Applicants must meet health and conduct standards, including completing a health questionnaire, undergoing medical examination, receiving immunisations for hepatitis B and tuberculosis, and passing a Disclosure and Barring Service check. Certain conditions may impact medical careers, so review pre-course information or contact occupational health services. Candidates must be 18 years old by 1 September of entry and available for interviews between November and April.
