About the course

Our BA in Anthropology provides a distinctive opportunity to explore the social, material, linguistic, and biological aspects of human experience. The programme equips students with essential skills and knowledge to apply anthropological theories and research methods in addressing key contemporary challenges, such as climate change, technological innovation, and widening health inequalities.Training includes qualitative and quantitative methodologies, along with descriptive, analytic, interpretive, and visual techniques, preparing students for fieldwork in Bristol and beyond. Inspired by original research, the degree culminates in a substantial final-year dissertation on a topic of choice, allowing exploration of human societies—past or present—from Amazonia to Avon—that inspire personal interest.
