Physics & Mathematics Education, BSc (Hons)

For those interested in physics and mathematics with aspirations to teach at post-primary level, this course integrates the study of these subjects with education from the outset. In the third year, students gain practical teaching experience through placements in post-primary schools and as third-level tutors, which the program arranges.The Bachelor of Science leads directly to a Master of Science in Mathematics and Science Education, fully qualifying graduates to teach physics and mathematics up to Higher Level Leaving Certificate and science to Junior Certificate Level. This five-year course is accredited by the Teaching Council of Ireland and includes placements from the first year, with year-long assignments in two different post-primary schools during the final two years.
