About the course

This BSc in Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering explores the fundamentals of intelligent system design, control, and embedded systems. Transform concepts into prototypes using 3D CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting, and the iForge makerspace. Combining mechanics, electronics, computing, and control, the course—shaped by world-leading research and industry partners—delivers hands-on skills with industry-standard equipment for applications in robotics, industrial control, and advanced manufacturing.Year 1 builds foundations in mathematics, computing, electronics, and modelling. Year 2 covers robot principles, mechanics, machine vision, communications, and integration projects. Year 3 features an advanced project and specialisation in Mechatronics & Robotics (e.g., motion planning, sensor fusion, machine learning) or Control (e.g., signal processing, optimisation). Accredited by IET, Institute of Measurement and Control, and Engineering Council UK, 90% of graduates secure work or further study within 15 months, with alumni at Rolls-Royce, Siemens, and Airbus.
