The Bachelor of Social Work (Honours)/Criminology & Criminal Justice is a five-year double degree that equips students with essential skills, experience, and knowledge to analyze how individuals and complex social issues shape real-life events. It integrates cross-faculty expertise from UNSW Law & Justice and UNSW Arts, Design & Architecture to address crime and social challenges holistically.Through innovative teaching focused on real-world case studies and practical experiences, students gain critical insights into justice and social systems. Social work components emphasize understanding people and providing support for issues such as homelessness, addiction, abuse, mental illness, poverty, ageing, and discrimination, while criminology draws from psychology, sociology, law, philosophy, and cultural studies to deepen comprehension of crime and criminality.
