The primary topics in aerospace engineering programmes encompass aerodynamics, aero structures, flight dynamics and control, propulsion systems, communications, avionics, and aircraft materials. Students also participate in a two-day flight test course aboard a Jetstream aircraft. These degree programmes are doubly accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.Students are encouraged to enhance their employability through summer internships or a year-long placement with an approved organisation. The School of Engineering offers MEng and BEng programmes with a year in industry, available to all students, including overseas ones (subject to potential restrictions). While the School and University provide support and guidance, securing a placement is the student's responsibility. Placements are highly competitive and not guaranteed; those unable to obtain one will transfer to the standard programme. For more details, refer to the provided link.
