Psychology, BSc (Hons), with industry placement

Our 4-year BSc in Psychology with a year in industry builds on the standard 3-year program by adding a dedicated year of professional work experience, helping students develop confidence and practical skills. At Swansea, you will gain expert scientific training in the mind, brain, and behaviour, exploring topics such as cognitive processes, memory, language, brain injury effects, and strategies to enhance health behaviours. With a range of optional final-year modules, you can tailor your studies to your interests, career goals, or postgraduate ambitions, while building strong research, analytical, numeracy, and ICT skills through interactive teaching methods like lectures, tutorials, seminars, and workshops.The program includes core modules across years, such as Biological Psychology and Research Methods in the first two years, a year in industry in year three, and advanced options in year four like Forensic Developmental Psychopathology and Positive Psychology. Assessment involves around 10 hours of weekly lectures and classes, supplemented by independent study, with a final-year independent research project that may lead to publications or conference presentations.
